Ghibli Hotel Civitanova Marche

I am swaying between 3 and 4 stars. On the plus side the people are very kind and helpful and you get a breakfast that is outstanding for the usual standards in Italy. The rooms are modern, the beds very good and the beach is really close. Parking space for guests is available without additional costs. The one troublesome issue is the check in/out. The parking lots are on the beach side of the hotel and you have to drag all your luggage around the hotel and around a barrier to prevent cars and bicycles to use the walkway. There is a short time parking space right in front. But it is really just one. When we checked out on a Saturday the city was crowded with visitors. The space was already taken by a luxury SUV the night before and when we checked out the next morning it was still there. The hotel just does not care at all if their own parking space for guests is misused. 🤷‍♂️ That meant for me to drag all our stuff around the hotel or pray for any other open gap in the middle of the wave of beach visitors. In the end it was a rather stressful and sweaty leave from the hotel and this was absolutely not necessary. Stuff like that should really not happen, not at a 4* hotel. By the way: the hotel should really get some trolleys for the guests to pack their stuff onto and discuss with the restaurant on the ground floor to allow guests to use their entrance as well. It would soften up the situation a lot.

Very nice, well-kept, modern hotel. The hotel was reopened in June 2018 after ownership change and complete renovation. VERY clean, attractively equipped rooms. The beds are very comfortable too. Highly recommended are the rooms to the sea side. They offer a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea, the beach and the palm-lined promenade in front of it. The whole hotel has a modern, smart design. The service is also great. The price-performance ratio is good. Overall, a top recommendation for a stay in Civitanova.
